JACKSON, Mississippi – March 2, 2021 – U.S. Orthopaedic Partners (“USOP” or “the Company”), a full-service, integrated orthopedic care platform that provides the full continuum of musculoskeletal treatment to patients in the Southeastern U.S., today announced the acquisition of leading Mississippi practices Jackson Anesthesia Pain Center (“Jackson Pain Institute”) and Oxford Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, PLLC (“Oxford Orthopaedics”). Financial terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Jackson Anesthesia and Oxford Orthopaedics headquartered in Jackson and Oxford, Miss., respectively, provide state-of-the-art care for a complete range of musculoskeletal disorders, chronic disease management, and injuries to the human body. Both practices are well known in their regional markets for providing the most up-to-date orthopedic care, including both non-surgical and surgical options to treat a wide array of muscular skeletal issues, including injury.

“We are excited to welcome our new physician partners to USOP. Our full-service, integrated orthopedic care platform will allow our new partners to experience the same clinical autonomy as an independent practice, and realize the unrivaled administrative support and group benefits our affiliate practices enjoy,” said Glen Silverman, CEO of U.S. Orthopaedic Partners. “Our partnership enables our doctor-partners to continue their focus on delivering exceptional patient care while enjoying the benefits that a larger more regional platform provides them.”

USOP’s highly scalable platform was formed in October 2020 through an investment from FFL Partners, a private equity firm focused on growth investments in middle market companies. Through the original partnership with Mississippi Sports Medicine, a large multidisciplinary group based in Jackson, MS, the platform continues to offer new groups the opportunity to partner their current practice with USOP, offering them operational expertise, access to capital, and a unique investment opportunity these groups would not otherwise have.

“Our unique “non disruptive” model will continue to be the focus of our acquisition strategy and focusing on like-minded groups that desire to be part of something larger,” said Silverman.

“We are thrilled to be joining USOP’s fast-growing network. We look forward to adding value to the platform and are excited with the opportunities USOP and their scale will create,” said Dr. Carroll McLeod, a pain medicine specialist at Jackson Anesthesia.

“We are a smaller group by size but joining the USOP platform will afford us the same long-term benefits and opportunities that having size and scale provides. We look forward to the future in an ever-changing environment,” said Dr. Cooper Terry, surgeon and founder of Oxford Orthopaedic. USOP’s physician-run “least disruptive” model is differentiated from similar organizations because its network members can retain their existing brand name, patient treatment autonomy and significant equity ownership in their own practice, while benefitting from the Company’s growing support capabilities.
