Founder Trey Carter to Serve as Executive Chairman

FRANKLIN, TENN. OCTOBER 04, 2019

Summit BHC (“Summit” or “the Company”), a leading provider of addiction treatment and behavioral health services, today announced that Jon O’Shaughnessy has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Company. He succeeds founder Trey Carter, who has overseen Summit’s impressive expansion to 18 addiction treatment centers in 13 states across the country. Carter will now serve as Executive Chairman and will remain actively involved in Summit’s business strategy, growth and development activities.

O’Shaughnessy brings over 30 years of executive healthcare experience, including with some of the largest behavioral health brands where he worked to improve both financial results and quality of care. From 2011 to 2016, he served as Division President at Acadia Healthcare where he oversaw the operations at 19 facilities that achieved consistent year-over-year double digit earnings growth; and he spent 12 years at Charter Behavioral Health Systems in a variety of roles including Senior Vice President for Hospital Operations, where he managed 38 facilities.

Previous CEO positions include Psychiatric Solutions Inc., Capella Healthcare Inc., Murray Calloway County Hospital and LifePoint Hospitals. He holds an MBA from Memphis State University.
